An easy solution to keeping control of your water bills

With somewhere in the region of one million water meters on property in Ireland and the rising cost of water bills, it’s no wonder that consumers are looking for an easy way to keep control on their own water usage and so their water bill!

But crawling around trying to access a water meter in a boundary box in the pavement can at best prove difficult and reading a meter in a boundary box is something that is not likely to be attempted on a regular basis!

The solution is easy, ask your water supply company to fit your property with a Groundbreaker® Box. This unobtrusive box may be small and neat, but it’s big on usability.  Easily attached to the side of your property or even to your garden wall, without the need for disruptive excavations in the public footpath, water supply pipes are fed through the Groundbreaker® box which can house a ‘smart’ water meter, giving you easy access to gauge your water useage and control your water bills.

Easily installed in less than an hour, as well as being uncomplicated to access and read by the home owner, the meter housed in the Groundbreaker® box can also be read remotely and accurately, meaning that you will never have an estimated water bill.

Groundbreaker® is WRAS approved and, when correctly fitted, will withstand temperatures to minus 15o c, is easy to maintain and, because Groundbreaker is made from 100% recyclable materials is environmentally friendly as well.

For more information please take a look at www.groundbreaker.co.uk or contact your local council or Bord Gais to ask about having Groundbreaker® installed on your property.

Carbon Saving? - Code for Sustainable Homes

Level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes requires that any developer reduces the consumtion of water on a property to and average of 80 litres per person per day.

At the moment this is just "guessed" and the only way to correctly measure consumption is to have a water meter in an accessible position rather than left out in the public footpath.

Groundbreaker offers this ease of access and provides the perfect platform for eyeball and / or smart meter readings

For reference:

Did you know that it takes the carbon equivelent of 380gm of carbon to product 1m3 of drinkable water?

And 700gm of carbon to treat 1m3 of effluent and return it to the water courses safely?

By saving water, you save carbon - The accessibility of our products makes it simplicity itself to read your water meter regularly.

Southern Water Companies offer Groundbreaker:
